Hi, I’m Julie, the founder of Bodywork Evolution.
Bodywork Evolution is a fully equipped Pilates studio and treatment room in the northern Gold Coast, providing a calm, personalised space for both treatment and movement.
I have worked in the health and fitness industry since 1994, beginning in the UK before continuing my career here in Australia. With over 25 years in practice, my work has evolved from Pilates and exercise into a deeper understanding of the body, movement, fascia, and the many factors that can contribute to pain and restriction.
I am a registered Structural Integration Practitioner and Clinical Pilates Instructor, with extensive experience in Remedial Massage, Myofascial Therapy, Structural Integration and Muscle Energy Techniques. I have recently completed my Master’s degree in Osteopathy, further expanding my clinical knowledge and understanding of the human body, and am currently awaiting my formal AHPRA registration to clear before commencing clinical practice.”
My Approach
I specialise in fascia, fascial restrictions and love how the connective tissue system can influence movement, tension and function.
I’m particularly passionate about helping people who experience persistent pain, restricted movement or recurring problems. I enjoy working through the puzzle of compensation patterns, fascial restrictions and movement imbalances to understand what may be contributing to symptoms.
Rather than simply treating where something hurts, I look at the body as a whole and consider how different areas are connected and influence each other.
My approach combines myofascial therapy, Structural Integration, hands-on treatment and Clinical Pilates, allowing me to tailor treatment and rehabilitation to each individual.
Movement for Life
As we age, our bodies change—but getting older doesn’t mean you have to accept pain, stiffness or give up the things you love.
Movement is one of the most important ways we can support our bodies as we age. As the saying goes, “If you don’t use it, you
lose it.”
A body in motion tends to stay in motion.
My goal is to help you keep moving—whether that’s returning to exercise after an injury, managing ongoing pain, improving strength and mobility, or simply continuing to do the things you enjoy.
Sharing the Knowledge
I’m also very proud to be part of the teaching team for Anatomy Trains Australia & New Zealand, helping bring Anatomy Trains education to therapists throughout the Southern Hemisphere.
My passion for fascia and connective tissue is a big part of both my clinical work and teaching. I believe that learning never stops, and I’m committed to continuing to develop my knowledge and sharing it with others.
Your movement matters—and it’s never too late to move better.
